This study discusses the relationship between hadith and the Koran. The results of this study are: Hadith, Sunnah, Khabar and Asar are etymologically different. However, according to terminology, they have similarities, although there are some scholars who differentiate them. The forms of Hadith are generally divided into three, namely: sayings, deeds and agreements of the Prophet, with the conditions previously described. The position of Hadith towards the Qur’an is very important, because both are revelations from Allah because revelation is divided into two types: revelation that is read and revelation that is not read, although on the other hand there are differences between the two. The function of the Hadith on the Koran is very urgent, so that many verses of the Koran cannot be properly understood and practiced except after looking at the Hadith. In general, the function of the Hadith to the Koran is divided into three types: Hadith and the Koran are two holy books whose meanings are equally sourced from Allah, but despite this there are many differences between the two, as has been explained.
