PROSES ISLAMISASI DI INDONESIA: TINJAUAN DARI BERBAGAI ASPEK

Abstract

Abstrak: Tulisan ini mengkaji tentang proses Islamisasi di Indonesia yang ditinjau dari berbagai aspek. Faktor utama penyebab konversi massal masyarakat Hindu Indonesia ke Islam adalah pengenalan budaya literasi yang relatif umum kepada komunitas Indo-Melayu. Penyebaran Islam yang sangat pasif di Nusantara pada saat itu tidak terbatas pada para pedagang di Asia Tenggara. Adanya peran guru sufi yang berpindah dari satu tempat ke tempat lain untuk menyebarkan agama Islam berdampak sangat positif bagi proses Islamisasi di Indonesia yang terkonsentrasi di daerah pesisir.

Abstract: This paper examines the process of Islamization in Indonesia in terms of various aspects. The main factor causing the mass conversion of Indonesian Hindus to Islam is the introduction of a relatively common literacy culture to the Indo-Malay community. The very passive spread of Islam in the archipelago at that time was not limited to traders in Southeast Asia. The role of Sufi teachers who move from one place to another to spread Islam has a very positive impact on the process of Islamization in Indonesia, which is concentrated in coastal areas.
